ukta—puṃska | उक्त—पुंस्क | a (feminine or neuter) word of which also a masculine is mentioned or exists (and whose meaning only differs from that of the masculine by the notion of gender; e.g. the word gaṇgā | गण्गा | is not ukta-puṃska | उक्त-पुंस्क |, whereas such words as ṣuBra | षुBर | and grāma-ṛī | ग्राम-ऋई | are so; cf. Bāśita-puṃska | Bआशित-पुंस्क |), Vop. iv, 8.
