muṛqakopaniśad | मुऋक़कोपनिशद् | muRqakopanizad

muṛqakopaniśad | मुऋक़कोपनिशद् | f. N. of a well-known Upaniṣad of the Atharva-veda (called also Ātharvaṇopaniṣad and said to take its former name from the word muṛqa | मुऋक़ |, because every one who comprehends its sacred doctrine is ‘shorn’, i.e. liberated from all error, a similar idea being probably involved in the name of the Kṣurikopaniṣad or ‘Razor Upaniṣad’; cf. IW. 35, 39 &c.)
